In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.
ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.
Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.
The ITS Information Security and Risk Management (ITSSR) department, headed by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), is responsible for providing leadership in managing the information security and risk functions and activities across the World Bank, enabling the achievement of WBG's business objectives and digital transformation. ITSSR supports and facilitates a risk aware culture, ensuring that WBG information assets are protected in an effective, efficient, and balanced manner and IT security and risk management efforts throughout the World Bank are coordinated and aligned to the Bank's business and ITS strategy. ITSSR comprises of the following functions: Security Operations, Risk Management and Advisory, PMO, Security Awareness, and IT Service Continuity.
The IT Business Solutions Officer reports to the ITSSR PMO Lead and leads a small team of staff and contractors to support a vendor SaaS solution hosting automated security and risk workflows. The IT Business Solutions Officer will work closely with ITSSR leadership team and ITSSR service owners to identify improvement opportunities in support of the security and risk processes and services delivered on the SaaS technology solution.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a small team comprised of staff and contractors to provide technical support, deliver small enhancements or design, configure and implement the SaaS platform new automated workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical team members to gather and analyze requirements, participate in feasibility analysis, develop technical requirements /specifications, design and/or implement modifications to solutions.
• Ensure the platform meets information security, compliance, and performance standards.
• Oversee the integration of the SaaS platform with existing systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Assist staff in resolving process, service and technical issues with the tool and workflows.
• Facilitate scrum events and coach the team to implement agile practices and principles.
• Plan and lead the migration of security and risk workflows from the current RSAM tool to the SaaS solution.
• Manage he backlog, ensuring that items are clearly defined and ready for sprint planning;
• Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables, and allocate resources.
• Conduct regular progress reviews and report to the management.
• Produce business and technical documentation, presentations, and training materials.
• Write test scenarios and test cases and perform testing as required.
• Perform sophisticated analysis related to the process or service, to surface issues for resolution and identify opportunities for improvement. Escalate findings and recommendations to management.
• Understand process or service-related architectural issues and factor them into decisions and recommendations.
• Manage the relationship with the vendor and contract, escalate issues as required.
