Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world’s aviation leaders. Ontic’s Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,400 employees across four time zones and nine sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace. 

Our team is looking for a Project Manager to join them. You will report to the Director of Continuous Improvement and will have an onsite work structure in Chatsworth, CA

To be considered for the Project Manager opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in supply chain, finance, procurement, or manufacturing project management.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (cost modeling, TCO analysis).
  • Knowledge of supply chain planning, procurement, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in aerospace/defense or complex manufacturing preferred.
  • PMP, APICS (CPIM/CSCP), or Six Sigma certification a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and inventory optimization tools (Visual a plus, but not a requirement).
  • Strong project management skills (planning, risk management, stakeholder alignment).
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, Deltek OpenPlan, and Visio.

As a Project Manager, you will: 

  • Conduct structured cost/benefit and risk analyses to decide whether components should be manufactured internally or procured from suppliers.
  • Evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO), capacity constraints, lead times, quality, and IP considerations.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to present recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain a decision framework to ensure consistent and data-driven evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain inventory strategies that balance working capital, supply risk, and customer service levels.
  • Establish safety stock policies, reorder points, and stocking strategies for legacy and new programs.
  • Support demand planning by analyzing historical usage, forecast variability, and supplier reliability.
  • Drive inventory reduction initiatives without jeopardizing service levels.
  • Act as project manager for key supply chain initiatives (supplier transitions, insourcing/outsourcing projects, tooling investments).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to support sourcing strategy and supply continuity.
  • Track and communicate project status, risks, and financial impacts to leadership.
  • Identify process improvements to streamline make/buy decisions and inventory planning.
  • Leverage data analytics tools (ERP, MRP, BI dashboards) for visibility and decision support.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives in supply chain planning and reporting.

Compensation Pay Range

$100,000-$120,000/year, based on experience
