About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and experienced Senior HR Business Partner / Country Head of Human Resources to lead our dynamic HR organization in Canada.  Reporting to the Group Head of HR for the Americas region, this position will be accountable for delivering HR capability, growing workforce talent and enabling strategic business outcomes.  The ideal candidate will be eager to step into a senior leadership position, leveraging past successes, rich experiences and creative spirit to drive excellence and engagement.  
As a key member of the executive team, the Country Head of Human Resources will collaborate closely with senior leadership to understand and anticipate business needs, translating these into actionable HR strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of HR best practices, a strong business acumen, and the ability to influence and collaborate at the highest levels of the organization.  
This role will lead a collaborative and cohesive business partner team and partner HR Centres of Excellence to deliver business, talent and leadership growth.   This role will be a hybrid position based in Ottawa, headquarters for Lockheed Martin Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, and manage the HR strategy in alignment with the overall business strategy.
  2. Serve as a strategic business partner to Country Senior Executive and Business Unit  leadership teams, providing HR expertise and guidance on a wide range of people-related issues.
  3. Serve as a broad business leader through analytical thinking, identifying risk, crafting solutions to deliver value.
  4. Oversee all aspects of HR strategic planning and program delivery, including recruitment, talent management, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and learning & development.
  5. Conduct regular HR analytics and reporting to inform decision-making and measure HR effectiveness.
  6. Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  7. Build and maintain a high performing, engaged, and inclusive workforce culture.
  8. Lead, manage and grow talent as a continuous priority for our HR organization. 
  9. Collaborate with other departments to drive organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Relations, Social Sciences or other related disciplines.   An advance degree MRHM or MBA would be an asset
  • 8+ years of prior experience as a Senior HR Leader with experience in Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Talent Management and/or Organization Development
  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills with the ability to adjust style as needed to develop effective relationships with all levels of leadership, employees and peers locally and virtually
  • Experience in advising and partnering with senior executive leader and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in addressing complex and difficult HR matters with confidentiality, empathy and confidence.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to present solutions to issues in a concise manner
  • Demonstrated experience in prioritizing and managing complex tasks
  • Experience and passion in supporting business change and people development
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating HR strategy and execution of HR initiatives
  • Ability to influence management and handle a broad range of HR issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel as needed in support of client requirements
  • CHRL or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Additional skills desired for the role

  1. Global mindset and experience working in diverse cultural environments.
  2. Experience in Defence and/or Technology sectors.
  3. Advanced HR Certifications
  4. Fluency in additional languages, particularly local languages, would be an asset.
