Job Title: Lead Java Software Engineer

Job Description:
As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining key components of our core prime-brokerage platform. This role emphasizes technical contribution, best practices in modern software development, and proactive focus on system performance, resilience, and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Hands-on Development: Design, develop, and implement critical components within the core platform using Java, ensuring high quality and reliability.
- Agile and DevOps Contributions: Participate actively in an agile environment, applying and enhancing CI/CD practices. Implement and maintain automated testing solutions led by developers to ensure code quality and stability.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of assigned work items, breaking tasks into manageable technical components.
- Requirement Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to clarify, refine, and implement technical requirements.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and system understanding.
- Production Support & Reliability: Provide operational support, diagnose and resolve escalated issues, contribute to post-mortem reviews, and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
Technical Experience:
Essential:
- Strong proficiency in Java, with a solid understanding of object-oriented principles and modern development practices.
- Extensive experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Highly Advantageous:
- Experience with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Knowledge of messaging technologies including Apache Kafka, Solace, or TIBCO.
- Familiarity with data storage and query technologies like SQL Server, MongoDB, and AWS S3.
- Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), and Grafana for monitoring and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Java development within a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and support.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders, operations, and QA.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on system performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
