Job Summary

Role Summary 

 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll drive innovation and excellence by delivering high-quality work, collaborating with your manager to advance team goals, and prioritizing effectively. You'll participate in core processes, recommend improvements, and invigorate the team by questioning the status quo. You'll respond urgently to operational issues, contribute to the software development lifecycle, and improve team processes. Engaging in code reviews, building cross-team relationships, and clarifying technical ambiguities will be key to your role, ensuring the team's success and shaping our technology's future.

Responsibilities and Duties 

 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with the Engineering Manager, Architect, Product Manager and team.

·       Acts with urgency and delivers high-quality work that adds value to the business, stakeholders, and customers.

·       Works with the manager to focus on advancing team goals.

·       Prioritizes effectively and proposes scope adjustments when necessary.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Data Architecture & Strategy
    • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design and implement robust enterprise data solutions aligned with business goals.
    • Ensure architectural consistency across data platforms, pipelines, and storage layers.
  • ETL Development & Orchestration (Matillion)
    • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Matillion for Snowflake.
    • Optimise data ingestion and transformation workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Data Transformation & Modeling
    • Develop complex data transformation logic to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases.
    • Implement and maintain dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas, and normalised structures.
  • Point-in-Time Data Storage
    • Architect and implement solutions for capturing and storing point-in-time snapshots of data for audit, historical analysis, and compliance purposes.
  • Cloud-Native Platform Expertise (Snowflake)
    • Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake, including:
      • Schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization.
      • Role-based access control and data security best practices.
      • Integration with BI platforms (ThoughtSpot) and third-party tools.
  • Data Governance & Quality
    • Implement data quality checks, lineage tracking, and metadata management.
    • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaboration & Reporting
    • Work closely with business and data analysts to deliver reliable and timely data products.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years in data engineering or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles.
  • Proven experience with Matillion and Snowflake in production environments.
