The Opportunity

 

Exciting Opportunity at MACA Infrastructure based in Bundoora! This is a part-time opportunity for a seasoned HR professional to join the team on a 3 or 4 day per week basis. Flexible start and finish times are available to accommodate school pick-ups. This position will report to the Alliance HR Manager and will be embedded within the project People & Culture team. 

 

Join our team as a HR Business Partner, where you will be the go-to person for all HR-related queries. Offering support and guidance to both employees and managers, you will play a crucial role in various HR functions.   

The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising of MACA, Acciona and AECOM) , this package of works covers the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange, and the north tunnel entrance at Watsonia. Works include three kilometres of new freeway, two kilometres of freeway upgrades, construction of retaining walls and bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, and urban design and landscaping.

Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct business to the highest standard consistent with the Alliance Charter, Success Map, Policies & Procedures
  • First point of contact for all HR queries from leaders and employees
  • Ensure HR matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements
  • Support the annual employee life cycle process
  • Support leaders with grievance, disciplinary and workplace investigations, and hearings
  • Support and increase leaders HR capability through one on one and group leader coaching
  • Help to drive organisational performance by driving core business objectives
  • Active participation in all Alliance Safety initiatives.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field,
  • 5 years of HR experience, specifically at the Advisor or Business Partner level.
  • Experience within the civil construction industry, a distinct advantage.
  • Sound understanding of the legal, regulatory and employment standards framework.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills. Strong coaching, mentoring and change management skills.
  • Intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office suite
