We are seeking a Plant Trainer to join our Salt Lake City manufacturing team. This role is key in developing, standardizing, and executing training programs that build employee capability, reinforce Lean Manufacturing practices, and ensure technical, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.

Main Purpose
The Plant Trainer is responsible for creating, delivering, and maintaining effective training programs to enhance the skills of employees at our manufacturing site. This includes developing training materials, facilitating hands-on sessions, assessing employee performance, and supporting leadership development initiatives. The role also oversees training systems, compliance records, and may supervise Technical Learning Specialists.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and standardize training processes with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Develop training materials, including standard work documents, videos, and testing/verification tools.
- Conduct engaging classroom and on-the-job training sessions for new hires and current employees.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records in HRIS, LMS, and skills matrices.
- Conduct audits of processes and training systems, providing feedback for improvement.
- Partner with production supervisors and managers to review progress and measure training effectiveness.
- Identify skills gaps, conduct needs assessments, and recommend solutions to enhance training delivery.
- Manage or support a train-the-trainer program and provide guidance to Skills Coaches or Technical Learning Specialists.
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5+ years of experience as a trainer in manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or production environments.
- Strong background in adult learning principles and hands-on training delivery.
- Proven ability to develop employees into fully qualified associates.
- Familiarity with Lean practices, simulations, job shadowing, and multiple training methods.
- Excellent organizational skills with experience maintaining training documents and compliance records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with LMS, Poka, SharePoint, or SAP a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse groups and cross-functional teams.
- High School diploma/GED required; formal trainer certification or college degree preferred.

Work Environment & Requirements
- Split between office, training room, and plant floor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment (variable weather/noise).
- Comfortable using PPE and operating within safety standards.

The compensation for this position will typically range from $66,000- 107,000/yr. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
