Position Details

  • Title: Talent and Development Partner
  • Location: Talent and Development Office at the Library Services Center
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Starting Hourly Rate Equivalent: $25.80 
  • FLSA Status: Exempt

A successful candidate will…

  • Have a bachelor’s degree, preferably with an HR focus.
  • Have three to five years of HR administrative or HR generalist experience.
  • Have a basic understanding of varying HR laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and benefits administration. 
  • Be proficient using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Have ability to work and excel in individual and collaborative environments.
  • Have experience working in HR systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now. 
  • Have a PHR or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred.

What does the job look like?

  • Partner with assigned managers to establish hiring parameters and recruit for open positions. Conduct new hire orientations to quickly and effectively onboard new staff.
  • Stay up to date on current HR trends, including updates and changes on employment laws and policies.
  • Drive annual benefits enrollment, wellness, and other internal work/life initiatives.
  • Interpret policies and procedural application in response to management/ staff inquiries. Guide assigned managers in employee relations, performance management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize data to recommend policy, program, or procedural changes in support of library’s strategic goals.
  • Conduct HR-related trainings, in individual or group settings to increase organizational leadership ability.
  • Works closely with other department staff and department Director to ensure Talent and Development-related projects are completed within designated time frames. 
  • Coordinates personnel changes with other departments, branches, and other Talent and Development staff to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Physical requirements include constant fine dexterity, hearing, vision, and talking, frequent sitting, walking, lifting up to 10 pounds, carrying, pushing/ pulling, and handling. May occasionally lift more than 10 pounds.
  • Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position
