The Nursing Supervisor for the Bowen Health Recovery Clinic (BHRC) supervises all activities of nursing staff, ensures that all policies and procedures of the BHRC are followed regarding medical concerns and medication dispensing. The Nursing Supervisor will provide medication related services, including administering medication and patient assessments through daily interactions with all patients. This role will also assist the Medical Doctor in providing medical services and ensure the safety and well-being of all patients.
Duties/Responsibilities:

- Coordinate training, workload distribution, supervision and continuing education for nursing staff and adjunct staff when appropriate.
- Collaborate with CSO and ensure credentialing of the addiction staff is current and accurate.
- Ensure new admissions are processed daily and receive comprehensive orientation regarding medication administration.
- Utilize leadership skills to foster a positive attitude and compassionate treatment of all patients.
- Initiate Performance Improvement activities and report results to Practice Administrator and Program Director.
- Assist in conflict resolution should the need arise.
- Conduct audits to promote accountability results and feedback are documented and shared with staff.
- Contribute to Outreach Activities with the Practice Administrator and Program Director.
- Assist the Program Director and HR in launching administrative supervision or disciplinary action.
- Assist the Program Director and Medical Director in leading treatment planning meetings with the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure all staff comply with state and federal regulations.
- If an emergency occurs and the patient is unresponsive, assess and provide emergency nursing intervention CPR and Narcan administration, if assessment determines such actions are needed to persevere life, until EMS arrives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates commitment to and practices in line with Bowen Health’s core values of respect, integrity, mission and stewardship.
- Working knowledge of OTP state and federal regulations for dispensing Methadone.
- Familiarity with and ability to comply with standards of professional conduct.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to calculate inventory of Methadone and Buprenorphine.
- Knowledge of Nursing Process and excellent assessment skills.
- Ability to function as a multidiscipline team member and develop collaborative working relationships with staff and medical doctors.
- Willingness to learn addictions theory and effective recovery treatment modalities.
- Remain updated on literature regarding substance use treatment.
- Knowledge of co-occurring morbidities in behavioral health and physical health.
- Maintain the required level of education, training and licensing qualifications.
- Strong verbal skills with ability and sensitivity to diverse cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds of patients.
- General computer skills and ability to efficiently navigate computer software (Methasoft).
- Knowledge of Bowen Health Policies and Procedure, Safety Standards and Emergency Plan.
- Knowledge and skill related to CPR certification and Narcan Administration.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Prefer two (2) years of experience in OTP or healthcare.
- Certificate or Professional License:
- License Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.
- Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage.
- Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks
- Must be a minimum 21 years of age.
