About the role
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing end-to-end operations for consumer goods (FMCG), within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility (oral solid dose and/or liquids product lines). This role ensures that production is executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory, quality, and cGMP standards. The manager is accountable for delivering daily performance goals related to output, quality, safety, and personnel development while driving continuous improvement across formulation, production, and packaging processes.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE, cGMP, FDA, OSHA, EPA standards; drive continuous improvement and Right First-Time performance
- Escalate HSE and quality incidents/deviations immediately; lead investigations, root cause analysis, CAPA completion, and SPIN documentation
- Support and lead internal, regulatory, and HSE audits; ensure timely CAPA closure
- Ensure monthly BSOs completion and feedback; manage SOPs, OJTs, and training compliance
- Oversee production operations (OSD/consumer goods: granulation, blending, compression, coating, packaging) to meet quality and schedule targets
- Approve weekly production schedules; align with planning on MPS and RCCP targets to optimize labor, capacity, and minimize downtime
- Ensure adherence to production plans; escalate deviations; manage labor and shift allocations
- Collaborate cross-functionally (QA, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain) to resolve issues and support initiatives
- Monitor and optimize KPIs: yield, OEE, throughput, deviations, labor productivity; escalate line stoppages and underperformance
- Lead OEE reporting and downtime reviews; manage waste and OEE trackers; implement visual management and KPI systems
- Manage cost center budgets (labor, overtime, temps, consumables); plan and justify budgets via RCCP; create COGS routing
- Empower teams for autonomous process ownership and KPI achievement; drive engagement and recognition
- Lead and mentor staff; ensure onboarding, training, cross-training, and BCP coverage; manage headcount vs. demand
- Monitor attendance trends; apply disciplinary policies as needed
- Recommend CapEx and tactical goals; define project scopes for CI and NPD timelines
- Champion 5S, lean practices, and visual management across production
The experience we're looking for
- An Associates or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Operations, or related Business discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in OSD/Liquids pharmaceuticals or regulated consumer goods.
- Strong knowledge of cGMPs, FDA regulations, and batch manufacturing and/or packaging processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a high-volume, regulated production environment.
- Proficient in production systems, batch records, Quality Systems / deviation management, and ERP tools (SAP preferred).
- PC Skills: E-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. • Excellentinterpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Budget, planning, and organizational change management.
- Continuous Improvement and consumer/customer orientated.
- Good understanding of pharmaceutical document systems.
Desirable
- Experience with oral solid dose manufacturing (e.g., tablet compression, encapsulation, coating, bottle & blister packaging). Experience with liquids (non-aseptic) equipment is a plus.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience in supporting regulatory audits (FDA, DEA, OSHA, etc.).
- Knowledge of EBR/MES systems (e.g., Werum PAS-X) is a plus.
- Good understanding of Reckitt production policies and regulatory requirements.

Salary Range
USD $156,000.00 - $234,000.00
