Under limited supervision, serve as a clinical equipment support technician to provide inventory control, minor repairs, and maintenance of medical equipment technologies, devices, instruments and systems. Will be liaison for preventative maintenance vendors. Individual will maintain good personal relationships with fellow workers, medical staff, vendors, manufacturers and the general public. Will be expected to participate in meetings, and training as required. Will perform rounds in assigned areas to assess how equipment is being used and to answer user questions. May assist with in‐service education sessions for users.
Responsibilities: Provide remedial corrective maintenance.
Maintain documentation of all service events, performance tests, recalls and corrective maintenance.
Schedule and oversee third‐party repair as necessary.
Maintain service agreements with the vendors who perform scheduled maintenance.
Compute power and space requirement for installing medical, dental, or related equipment and install units to manufacturers’ specifications as needed.
Explain or demonstrate correct operation or care and handling of medical equipment to personnel.
Participate in or assist with development of departmental continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Move or oversee third‐party moves of equipment and furniture.
Ensure functional lighting for all assigned clinical locations.
Complete work orders in clinics assignments. Maintain assignments in the tracking software.
Ensure all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes and related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards including The Joint Commission and CommUnityCare Standard Operating Procedures and CommUnityCare Policies and Procedures.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Basic knowledge in the repair and maintenance of clinical equipment technology, such as the knowledge obtained in entry‐level biomedical engineering courses.
Basic knowledge of the technical aspects of electronic equipment and its operation, repair, and maintenance.
Basic knowledge of the application and repair of refrigerants, icemakers and coolers
Basic knowledge of the technical aspects of generator and its operation, repair, and maintenance.
Basic knowledge of inventory control.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Sufficient written communication skills to handle emails and written instructions.
Highly self‐motivated and self‐directed.
Ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.
Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects and to prioritize.
Effective organizational skills and attention to detail; effective follow‐through, and commitment to excellence.
Valid driver’s license
Proficient computer skills in MS Office Site and keyboarding to update work orders.
Generally good working conditions. Individual will be expected to drive to each clinic as scheduled. Possible hazards include exposure to electrical shock, ionizing radiation, chemicals and chemicals and chemical fumes, high‐pressure air, infectious disease, and various other hazards associated with biomedical engineering work. Protective clothing and safe work practices are required.
Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION: H.S. Diploma or equivalent
