Content Designer.

Salary: £34,000 per annum pro rata.

Location:  Homebased.

Contract: Fixed Term until 31 March 2026 (with a possible extension) – 35 hours per week.

A bit about the role   

In this fixed term role as Content Designer, you will take a  key role in the design of impactful user-centred content and journeys for Action for Children digital services and related products (including flagship online service, Parent Talk).

How you'll help to create brighter futures  

  • Designing user-centred, accessible, and inclusive content and journeys for parents, carers, and young people.

  • Creating and reviewing advice content, ensuring it meets user needs and aligns with brand tone of voice, accessibility, and best practice. 

  • Working with subject matter experts in a collaborative and open way.

  • Being an advocate for user-centred and accessible content.

  • Lead on content in multidisciplinary product team and with our technical partners.

  • Uploading and checking content prior to publishing.

  • Following and keeping up to date with style guide and content design.

  • Working with the digital team to plan, review and feedback on a monthly newsletter and review social posts when needed. 

Let's talk about youas Content Designer

  • Demonstrable experience of designing accessible and user-centred content and journeys. 

  • Demonstrable experience of interpreting analytics, user behaviour data, and user feedback to inform content. 

  • Knowledge of what makes content accessible and designing for different access needs. 

  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders.

  • Experience using search or SEO research, social listening, and other user insight to inform user stories. 

  • Demonstrable understanding of EDI.

  • Knowledge of user testing.

  • Experience in basic HTML, using content management systems and writing for the web.
