Our story starts in 1911, manufacturing cables to support the distribution of power generated from Niagara Falls, Nexans has proudly contributed to Canada's growth.  We have been involved in many of Canada's most ambitious projects; from dams, bridges, energy transmission and distribution to railroads and transportation. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

 

GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION 

One of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalading the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems and services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers.

 

The Marketing and Event Coordinator mission is to be at the forefront of driving brand visibility, customer satisfaction and market growth for Nexans across Canada. By combining strategic planning, hands-on engagement, and market intelligence, the Marketing and Event Coordinator will play a pivotal role in strengthening our presence within distributor branches, job sites, and industry events.

 

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

 

Analysis and Strategic Field Planning

  • Develop and execute a weekly prospection plan covering distributor branches and job sites across Canada.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of distributor branches, including satisfaction tracking and feedback-driven improvement actions.
  • Conduct field-level market intelligence: collect insights on customer needs, competitive offers, and emerging trends.
  • Develop the annual roadmap of events, customer visits, and training sessions in coordination with the Marketing Manager.

 

Operational Execution

  • Conduct regular visits to distributor branches and job sites to:
  • Train distributor sales teams and customers on Nexans’ solutions and innovations.
  • Deliver live demos, sales pitch presentations, and hands-on product guidance.
  • Pitch offers directly to contractors and organize in-branch campaigns or challenges.
  • Gather customer satisfaction data through tailored questionnaires and informal interviews.
  • Ensure on-site visibility of the Nexans brand by deploying up-to-date Marcom toolkits and merchandising elements.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify regional support needs and execute localized marketing actions.

 

Event Management & Brand Deployment

  • Represent Nexans at distributor-led events, trade shows, exhibitions, and contractor seminars.
  • Take full ownership of field-level event logistics: booth setup, promotional materials, banners, giveaways, and dismantling.
  • Support the marketing team in the deployment of national event strategies by managing local execution.
  • Help ensure Nexans’ image and messaging are professionally presented at all in-person activations.

 

Content Creation & Collaboration

  • Capture photos and short video clips during branch visits, product installations, customer events, and training sessions to document field engagement and product usage.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Operational Coordinator to provide high-quality, usable content for social media and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Support the development of new merchandising tools and marketing assets (e.g., signage, displays, visuals) in collaboration with the Marketing Specialist, based on field insights and branch-specific needs.
  • Bring creative ideas for giveaways, promotional items, and field marketing tools that resonate with contractors and distributors.
  • Conduct competitive field benchmarks on merchandising practices, in-branch displays, promotional tools, and giveaways to identify trends and inspire continuous improvement.

 

Customer Support & Demonstration Tools

  • Provide on-site total cost of ownership (TCO) and usage demonstrations to show product benefits in real applications.
  • Support end-users during first installations and ensure post-sale technical support when necessary.
  • Contribute to the evolution of training and sales tools by offering practical feedback on materials used in the field.

  

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrician or in electrical installation, with strong knowledge of industry practices.
  • Field-oriented mindset with the ability to work in dynamic, on-site environments.

 

Technical and Professional Skills

  • Strong ability to demonstrate the added value of Nexans solutions to contractors and end users.
  • Proven capacity to communicate effectively with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and contractor stakeholders.
  • Excellent event planning and organizational skills.

 

Language and Communication

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; French-English bilingualism is a strong asset.

 

Other Requirements

  • Up to 50% Travel required for this position
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle for national travel.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for building relationships with distributors and customers.
