The Purpose:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Associate to support the Compliance team in LATAM, focus on Brazil. The Compliance Associate will be responsible for supporting PPRO’s compliance programme in Brazil and will play a key role in ensuring that our operations adhere to applicable laws, relevant regulations set forth by the Central Bank, and internal policies.

The role also will support the regulatory demands for Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico, assisting the entities to comply with regulatory obligations, improve operational efficiency and continuously drive better stakeholder outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining effective compliance procedures, conducting internal risk assessments, supporting audits, interfacing with the regulator and providing guidance to various departments within the organisation. They will champion a robust culture of compliance and risk management throughout the company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining effective compliance procedures, conducting internal risk assessments, supporting audits, interfacing with the regulator and providing guidance to various departments within the organisation. They will champion a robust culture of compliance and risk management throughout the company.  

Your impact in this role:
  • Support the Compliance team in fostering a culture of continual Compliance  improvement across the Group  
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to develop a Group-wide, homogenised control environment   
  • Stay informed about evolving regulatory changes, laws, and guidelines specific to Central Bank of Brazil, PIX and Payment Institution and assess their impact on the company's operations  
  • Contribute to the implementation of a robust AML/CFT programme  
  • Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to local Central Bank regulations and industry best practices  
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness and proportionality of PPRO’s compliance program through audits, risk assessments, and internal controls 
  • Provide reports for senior management on the state of the program and areas of  improvement  
  • Prepare and submit reports as needed to regulatory bodies (BCB)  
  • Responsible for monitoring communications from the Central Bank through channels such as SISBACEN, BCCORREIO, and SISCOM, as well as updating information in UNICAD and tracking the submission of reports via CRD.  
  • Assist in maintaining open communication with regulatory authorities, government agencies and auditors and respond to inquiries or requests for information
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for employees to enhance their understanding of compliance obligations and ethical standards  
  • Contribute to fostering a culture of compliance within the organisation  
  • Assist in identifying and addressing inefficient procedures with continuous goals to reduce customer friction, support commercial scaling and modernise the verification process without compromising compliance.  
  • Assist in the review of new and existing products/services to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.  


  • What would make you a great fit:
  • Previous experience of at least 3 years in Compliance within the financial services or payments industry in Brazil  
  • Familiarity with Central Bank of Brazil regulations and requirements and a demonstrable interest in learning about other regulators.  
  • Understanding of AML/CFT principles and practices  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently  
  • Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., CAMS) are a plus  
  • Professional knowledge of the English language. Spanish is a plus
