Adelante runs Bargain Square Thrift Store in Belen NM, a social enterprise that offers employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The store operates seven days a week, Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm (excluding holidays). It receives thousands of donations daily and offers a wide range of items, including clothing, housewares, and furniture, at affordable prices!

General Description of Duties: 

• Responsible for daily operation of thrift store.
• Customer relations, answering phones, tagging, stocking, and selling merchandise.
• Maintain general appearance of the retail area.
• Assist customers with unloading and processing donations.
• Complete required documentation for donations.
• May pick-up or deliver goods donated or purchased.
• Provide personal care and other assistance for clients as required.
• Ensure client safety on the selling floor and donation processing areas.
• Provide backup to meet client's needs related to placement, training, and general supervision.

Education and Training:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Requires one year of general work experience. 
• Post high school training in business preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred.
• Bilingual helpful.
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.

Other Requirements: Must pass TB test, background check and pre-employment drug screen.  Must have reliable transportation, valid NM driver's license, and agency insurable driving record.  Must be able to operate cash register, tagging equipment and a 10 key adding machine as well as answer telephones as needed.  Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulders, crouch, kneel, push/pull, carry frequently and stand for extended periods of time.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.  Adelante is a drug free workplace.
