Field Support Engineer, UK

We are seeking a capable and experienced Field Support Engineer to work closely with our defence customers in the UK and overseas. You will join our Defence Services business in Farnborough, and become part of a professional team of customer-focused technical experts supporting the implementation of our market-leading defence software.
 

The job: Delivering solutions to support critical decision-making on the battlefield
You will play a key role in delivering and supporting our SitaWare and IRIS command-and-control (C2) software products. As a Field Support Engineer, you will be the ‘tip of the spear’ for Systematic, leveraging your technical knowledge and understanding of military systems and environments to bridge the gap between SitaWare and its end-users. Your experience will enable our customers to successfully deploy and use Systematic’s products in their environments.

Your key tasks may include:
•    installing and configuring our software products in customer environments
•    solving technical problems, including fault-finding and troubleshooting
•    working directly with military customers to enable them to maximise their use of our software products, including providing on-the-job training
•    travelling to customer sites and providing on-site support during military exercises in the UK and overseas
•    coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, users and colleagues within Systematic
•    supporting the delivery of technical training for our customers

 
The team: Defence Services in Farnborough
Based in Farnborough, Hampshire, you will be part of our UK Defence Services team, reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager. The role offers variety and scope, with domestic and occasional international travel to customer sites as well as visits to our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark. We support a hybrid working model, giving you the flexibility to balance time in the office with working from home.

You bring: Technical capability and defence experience
You have a solid technical background and experience of working in a military environment. 

Your technical competences and experience include:

•    Windows system administration
•    Tactical communications bearers, servers and networks
•    Installing and configuring applications in customer environments
•    Software fault-finding and debugging

Your defence experience ideally includes:

•    A knowledge of military C2 systems, battle management systems and operational/tactical networks
•    An understanding of staff roles in brigade/division/corps headquarters
•    Familiarity with operational and tactical doctrine

Please note that you must be able to live and work in the UK and meet the requirements for a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check or additional security checks commensurate with your role. Read more here
