About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.
We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. As a residential (drive-in / drive-out) mine, Cadia values community deeply, offering both financial and in-kind support to organizations across Blayney, Cabonne, and Orange townships. Join Our Team at Newmont – Entry-Level Underground Mining Operator
Are you reliable, safety-focused, and ready to start your career in underground mining? We’re looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Nippers / Truck Drivers, supporting our underground operations and contributing to safe and efficient mining activities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist underground operators with development mining, underground truck operations and installation work.
- Support a culture of safe development by following safety systems, procedures, and policies (e.g., JSEA, pre-start inspections, hazard reporting).
What We’re Looking For:
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to workplace risk management.
- Basic understanding of underground metalliferous mining (preferred but not essential).
- Willingness to take ownership of your responsibilities and contribute to team success.
- Manual C Class Driver’s License (required).
- Working at Heights ticket (must be obtained before starting).
- Experience operating heavy machinery (preferred but not essential).
Additional Information:
- This is a Fixed-Term Contract for 12 months.
- All successful applicants will undergo police checks, working rights verification, qualification checks (if applicable), and a medical assessment.
- This is a residential role based on a 7 days on / 7 off / 7 nights on / 7 off roster (12-hour shifts, Thursday to Wednesday).
