In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. 
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters. 
- Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). 
- Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable. 
- A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. 
- Federal Work Study student may apply. 
- In good disciplinary standing. 
- Must be located in the U.S.

The editorial assistant provides support to the course developer/editor in ensuring that new and updated Berklee Online courses meet strict guidelines for language, formatting, and accessibility. This is a fully remote position—reliable internet, mic, and video are all required.Amount of Hours: 10–20
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform quality assurance (QA) checks on course content in several different online formats (CMS, LMS, Google docs)
- Double check all hyperlinks and videos for functionality and accuracy
- Ensure accessibility of course content by checking presence and accuracy of image alt-text and closed captioning
- Make changes to CMS to conform existing content to house formatting specifications for lists, spelling, abbreviations, specialized terminology, grading rubrics, image captions, etc.
- Assist in organized and timely record keeping of QA checks
- Weekly check-in meetings with supervisor
- Other course development–related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Use Google Sheets, email, and Slack to communicate with supervisor
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience working with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive
- Experience with online learning
- Experience editing, proofreading, and/or beta testing
- Highly detail oriented
- Clear communicator and writer
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience working with the Chicago Manual of Style
- Knowledge of accessibility concerns in online learning environments
- No previous experience with CMS or LMS is required—only a willingness to learn.
