POSITION OVERVIEW 

Cornerstone seeks a full-time professional to support our client accounts. All individuals in our Maryland office manage various administrative tasks and support each other with client service activities. Administrative tasks are also necessary to support new and existing government relations clients. This position is based in Annapolis, Maryland.  

 

This position is responsible for several client service and administrative tasks, including, but not limited to:  

  • Assisting with administrative and support duties, including scheduling; 
  • Assisting with legislative fundraising, scheduling meetings, and helping with other events as needed; 
  • Attending subcommittee and committee meetings during the legislative session as needed;  
  • Providing legislative research & policy analysis through issue papers and bill summaries; 
  • Drafting memorandums and other client-related documents and assisting with newsletters; 
  • Drafting weekly newsletters with legislative bill reports during the legislative session and relevant news stories outside of the legislative session.
  • Keeping the office organized, professional, and presentable; and
  • Handling office deliveries and mail.

 

Benefits

Base salary for this position shall be based on experience and level of education and range from $65,000 to $80,000. Employees are eligible for annual performance-based bonuses as well as full coverage of medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance premiums. In addition, employees are eligible to receive a 401(k)-employer match and shares in the firm’s employee stock ownership plan, upon entry into the plan. Employees are eligible for paid time off and additional fringe benefits to perform their job duties (parking, cell phone coverage, etc.).

  • Curiosity for issues related to governance and lawmaking; and
  • A basic understanding of government relations or relevant work experience in a related field; 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel), Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat; and 
  • Proficiency with web browsers (Explorer, Chrome) and virtual platforms.
