Position Summary
Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Theology on the Mequon, WI campus. This position is in the Department of Theology and in the School of Arts and Sciences, with an anticipated start date of January 2026.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching responsibilities are primarily in the area of Lutheran doctrine, which may include courses such as Lutheran Confessions, Law and Gospel, Biblical Theology, and A Survey of Christian Thought, among other courses as needed for the programs of the department. Other responsibilities include advising students, curriculum development, revision, and assessment, service on committees within the department, school, and university, and peer-reviewed scholarship. All CUW faculty members hold 12-month contracts and teach in fall, spring, and summer semesters as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Status as an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or of a sister synod in fellowship with the LCMS
- A completed or nearly completed doctorate in systematic theology
- Excellent teaching ability in a wide range of theological courses
- Ability to work well with colleagues
- Ability to work effectively with students of different ages and from other countries and religions.
- Ideal candidate has pastoral experience; familiarity with online instruction, diverse cultural experience
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt (salary) faculty position. The starting wage may be determined upon education and/or experience. Concordia University benefit options include, but are not limited to the following:
