DESCRIPTION
- This position provides individual mental health and substance use therapy, is responsible for performing face-to-face clinical evaluations, facilitating groups as well as providing assessments to ensure that consumers receive quality services that are appropriate to their level of need.
- Requires considerable knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and clinical diagnosis and assessment.
- Provides SUD services including SUD assessments, brief assessments, requests for service, prescreens, crisis intervention, linking and coordinating with community partners to assist consumers and their families seeking SUD or co-occurring services in a manner that is consistent with evidence-based treatment standards and best practice guidelines.
- Prepares biopychosocial assessments and case management in the field to assist consumers with accessing services in the SUD service array. Completes all clinical documentation within 24 hours and collects data to provide statistics of persons served and the outcome data.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND LICENSING CREDENTIALS:
- Masters degree in social work or psychology with current Michigan licensure or certification as a LMSW, LLP or LPC.
- One year experience in clinical assessment and providing short‑term outpatient therapy to emotionally impaired adults using individual, group and family modalities preferred.
- Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) preferred.
- If not currently certified, must be willing to receive SUD training and become certified within the first 3 years of employment.
