Starting Salary Scale: $60,000-$70,000

Purpose of Job: 

The Facilities Technician Manager will assume a pivotal role in supporting both the remodeling and ongoing operations of the new administration center, while also providing oversight to Statewide Facilities Technicians and their daily activities. This position is tasked with statewide facility maintenance coordination, project management and reporting, contractor supervision and communication, maintenance planning, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of administration building systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a hands-on approach, meticulous attention to detail, and an ability to excel in a dynamic work environment.

Statewide Facility Maintenance Management: 

  • Manage Facilities Technicians: Provide leadership and supervision for Facility Technicians, ensuring effective execution of daily operations, conducting annual performance evaluations, and monitoring position deliverables to optimize team productivity. Oversee and perform ongoing training and development to maintain high technical competency and safety standards. 

  • Ticket System Oversight: Review and prioritize ticket system submissions, track and analyze completion times for Facility Technician requests, implement process improvements based on data insights, and ensure prompt resolution of all service tickets. 

  • Project Coordination: Lead and coordinate Facilities team participation in statewide projects, manage resource allocation and timelines, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. 

Administration Complex Management: 

Pre-Opening Phase: 

  • Project Coordination: Manage daily activities related to the remodel and transition into the new administration center. 

  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the liaison between contractors, architects, vendors, and the GOAL C-Team. 

  • Timeline Management: Track project milestones, ensuring timely completion of tasks. 

  • Site Inspections: Conduct daily building and construction checks, reporting findings to the Chief Information Officer and GOAL C-Team. 

  • Space Planning: Assist with office layouts, furniture installation, and office relocations to optimize space utilization. 

Post-Opening Operations: 

  • General Oversight: Provide comprehensive management of the administration center, ensuring all physical operations run smoothly. 

  • Building Systems Oversight: Monitor and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems to ensure optimal performance. 

  • Facility Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to assess safety, cleanliness, and functionality, addressing any issues promptly. 

  • Maintenance Records: Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, warranties, and service contracts for all building systems. 

  • Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to facility-related issues and emergencies, coordinating necessary actions to resolve them. 

  • Snow Removal Management: Oversee and perform snow removal operations, ensuring safe access to the facility during winter months. 

  • Landscaping Management: Oversee and perform basic landscaping requirements, ensuring proper care, clean curb appeal, and regular system maintenance associated with landscaping.  

  • Regional Support: Assist the Director of Facilities and Operations with maintenance needs across GOAL regions as needed. 

 

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Ability to treat sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. 

  • Any additional reporting required by the Chief Information Officer 

  • 10-30% of travel required in-state only. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

 

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required 

  • Associate degree or Technical Certification or higher in facilities management or a related field preferred  

 

Experience:  

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities operations, building maintenance, or construction support 

  • 5+ years of overseeing staff or managing teams  

  • Familiarity with building systems and general maintenance practices 

  • Strong organizational and communication skills 

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management software 

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Experience supporting commercial construction or remodel projects 

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols 

  • Project management experience or formal training/certification
