Job Description for Mutuels Clerk:

*This position earns Tips.

  • Accurately balances assigned bank.
  • Makes exchanges of currency, coins and money equivalents with customers in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Takes bets from mutuels customers.
  • Checks all bills for counterfeiting.
  • Cashes out customer tickets in accordance with department procedures.
  • Assists other mutuel tellers as necessary.
  • Is held accountable for accuracy and thoroughness to ensure accurate departmental records and reports.
  • Must provide excellent customer service to all patrons.
  • Advises Mutuels supervisors of any high level customer service issues.
  • All other duties assigned.

Job Qualifications for Mutuels Clerk:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Must have at least 2+ years of previous cash handling experience.
  • Must be able to obtain the appropriate state occupational license.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
  • Must have keen attention to detail and able to correct mistakes.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include night, weekends and holidays.

Job Description for Change and Information Clerk:

*This position earns Tips.

  • Provides general information to all guests regarding mutuels.
  • Cashes checks in accordance with internal controls.
  • Sells lotto and maintains lotto inventory.
  • Provides amounts of change as required by customers.
  • Provides the highest level of customer service.
  • Assists customers by taking bets and cashing out tickets in accordance with department procedures.
  • Assist with signing up new players.
  • All other duties assigned.

Job Qualifications for Change and Information Clerk:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Must have at least 2+ years of previous cash handling experience.
  • Must be able to obtain the appropriate state occupational license.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
  • Must be able to stand for long durations of time.
  • Must have keen attention to detail and able to correct mistakes.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include night, weekends and holidays.
