We're hiring for a Carpenter Foreman in Madison, WI!

Stevens Construction Corp. is a commercial general contractor with self-performed trades of concrete, carpentry, and prefabricated walls. We specialize in the new construction of commercial, multi-unit and mixed-use buildings.

The Carpenter Foreman is responsible leading the self-perform carpentry crews while assisting the Project Superintendent with material flow and coordination of all carpentry activities onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all rough carpentry activities onsite; inclusive of layout, framing, setting wall panels, sheathing, setting floor truss', installing exterior windows and doors.
  • Oversee all trim carpentry activities onsite; inclusive of base, case, trim, interior doors, cabinets, windowsills, and vanity tops.
  • Assist with scheduling and ordering materials as needed for the carpentry crews to secure the materials needed.
  • Forecast crew sizes needed to complete self-perform carpentry activities within estimated manhours.
  • Partner with internal structural components plant to ensure material is onsite when needed.
  • Partner with Yard Operations to ensure tools are onsite when needed.
  • Conduct daily huddles with crew to assign tasks and deadlines to maintain production schedule.
  • Assist with annual reviews for carpentry crew members, in addition to daily maintenance with managing attendance and performance.
  • Assist carpentry crews as needed.
  • Assist with framing inspections.
  • Enforces all job site safety requirements.
  • Create a positive, professional and friendly environment onsite.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly job site.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Carpenter Foreman
  • Expert level of knowledge with rough frame operations, including prefabricated wall panels
  • Proficient at building layout
  • Proven ability to successfully lead crews and manage schedules
  • Jobsite safety management experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to use construction management software, scheduling tools, and digital plan sets
