Job Description Summary
Responsible for driving financial excellence across Transportation, Warehousing, Finished Good Inventory Management, Accuracy & Analytics, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). This position provides executive-level financial oversight, enabling data-driven decision-making, enhancing profitability, and ensuring compliance with financial standards. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director influences high-level strategy, partners with executive stakeholders, and develops financial frameworks that support long-term business growth. This role requires a strong financial background, expertise in supply chain finance, and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and drive financial strategies that optimize operational efficiencies, control costs, and enhance profitability across Transportation, Warehousing, S&OP, and Inventory Management.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Provide expert financial forecasting, risk assessment, and scenario planning, ensuring strategic alignment with corporate objectives and financial targets.
- Inventory Accuracy & Analytics: Oversee financial controls for finish goods inventory accuracy and inventory analytics across 30+ internal and external warehouse locations, ensuring compliance with SOX controls, corporate policies, and internal controls.
- EDI Transaction Improvements: Lead team in improvements and corrections with EDI transaction between Lamb Weston and 3rd party warehouse to ensure proper shipment, receiving, and inventory transactions are recorded to maintain customer service expectations.
- Executive Business Partnering: Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Corporate Finance executives to shape financial policies and support strategic decision-making.
- S&OP & Cost Management: Provide financial leadership and insights within the S&OP process, aligning demand and supply plans with financial targets and driving cost optimization opportunities.
- Process Optimization & Technology: Drive continuous improvement by implementing financial process automation, EDI advancements, and system enhancements to maximize accuracy and efficiency.
- Financial Governance & Compliance: Establish rigorous financial controls, enforce accountability in procurement and inventory management, and ensure audit readiness.
- People Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, cultivating a culture of innovation, agility, and financial excellence.
- Executive Communication & Influence: Present financial insights, variance analyses, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, positioning Finance as a key driver of business growth.
Scope:
- Primarily focused on North America’s $500MM of transportation and warehouse spend but collaborate for global alignment and best practices.
- Support global S&OP projects with analytics to determine optimized financial returns.
- Maintain accurate inventory across 30+ external warehouses and up to 1 billion lbs. of finished goods.
- Lead team of +10 individuals.
- Business partner with Sr Leaders in Supply Chain.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CMA strongly preferred.
- 10 - 15 years related experience
- Strong command of SAP, BW, BI, BPC, or other financial systems, with a proven track record of leveraging technology for strategic advantage.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, solution-oriented environment.
- Strategic mindset with expertise in business insight, decision support, and financial analytics.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement strategic solutions.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive financial performance in a dynamic business environment.
