Responsible for basic accounting and reporting requirements of the company and performs managerial operating or cost accounting activities.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with month end close procedures and reporting.
- Tracks and reconciles GL accounts.
- Reviews company reports during month end/year end close and inquires as necessary to ensure accuracy and consistency of reported data.
- Prepares routine journal entries.
- Assists in maintaining GL structure.
- Research and resolve account reconciliation items.
- Writes special reports to support operational needs in a timely manner.
- Provides support as needed to department and business managers.
- Performs special duties and other projects as assigned.
- Adheres to all company policies.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving and results.
- Critical/analytical skills and systems analysis/evaluation.
- Basic accounting and GAAP principles, accounting software and computer systems.
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
- Deductive/inductive reasoning and mathematical ability.
- Basic knowledge of the theory and practice of recording, classifying, examining and analyzing the data and records of financial transactions.
- Must be highly detail oriented and organized.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position generally requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus two years’ experience or A.A./A.S. degree in accounting/bookkeeping and four years’ experience.
