Exercise Physiologist (PT) presso FHW

* Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field required.
* Licenses No professional license required.
* Certifications Current CPR certification required.
Personal training or other pertinent certifications preferred.
* Experience One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.

Job Essential Functions
* Use knowledge of chronic illnesses to determine appropriate exercise programs for all participants in individual and group settings.
* Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of risk stratification, exercise prescription, exercise testing procedures, interpretation and contraindications to exercise for moderate to high risk special populations.
* Design and implement progressive exercise programming focused on cardiovascular fitness functional strength, muscle endurance, and balance.
* Provide ongoing motivation and support to participants to encourage adherence to exercise prescription.
* Monitor and interpret vital measurements pre, intra, and post exercise for participants when necessary. Also, provide this assistance to rehabilitation department as needed.
* For individual sessions, maintain current documentation of participant progress or retrogression and encourage participant communication with physicians and/or therapist.
* Conduct ongoing drop-in group exercise sessions with safety considerations and exercise modifications.
* Oversee maintenance and scheduling for group exercise classes.
* Schedule participant appointments and take program payments whenever possible.
* Develop, organize, and implement various wellness workshops.
* Provide monthly wellness reports to Rehabilitation Director.
* Conduct weekly exercise classes at other organization locations.
* Assist in management of employee wellness programs.
* Write monthly article for the wellness corner in the employee newsletter.
* Provide community lectures as the need arises.
* Work with marketing to increase wellness program participation.
* Treat all staff, participants, patients and their families with respect and dignity. Is sensitive to psychosocial needs.
* Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly. Maintain departmental cleanliness and safety.
* Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful conditions.
* Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
* Consult other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
* Participate in and maintain performance improvement activities for department and organizational CQI activities.
* Meet current documentation standards and policies.
* Participate in educational staff performance improvement in-services. Assist with orientation and in-service training for certified department staff members. Participate in guidance and educational programs.
* Participate in infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs.
* Participate in and/or leads community based programs as directed by Director of Rehabilitation Services.
* Report to work on time and as scheduled. Complete work within designated time. Wear identification while on duty.
* Trains personnel utilizing on-the-job training, as directed by the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
* Other job related duties as assigned.

10-20 hours per week

Wage start at $20.00 and goes up with experience
