SHIFT:  Day/Evening/Weekend teaching assignments | Flexible based upon the needs of the college

LOCATIONS:  Lakeshore College - Cleveland, Wisconsin 

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide high-quality instruction, emphasizing alignment with the local workforce needs in the field of Mechanical Design and Engineering. Proficiently teach mechanical drafting using industry-standard software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CREO, covering diverse topics such as additive manufacturing, prototyping, reverse engineering, and mechanical design theory drafting skills development will empower students for success, offering hands-on experiences in constructing and revising engineering drawings. Stay at the forefront of industry trends and integrate cutting-edge practices into the curriculum, ensuring students are well-prepared for the workforce. Provide exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):

100% Instruction

  • Responsible for placing learning first and providing educational experiences for learners in various delivery formats, schedules, and in various places in accordance with the mission of the college inclusive of: facilitating learning of diverse students, assessing student performance, as well as instruction and outcomes, developing and maintaining current/relevant course materials, and communicating with the community, other schools, the college, the division, and team members. 
  • Developing curriculum, including learning activities and assessments.
  • Work with curriculum coach to ensure state and Lakeshore design requirements are met. 
  • Teaching/training in business and industry may be assigned.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and one year (2,000 hours) of recent relevant occupational experience within the past five years.
  • Teaching experience preferred.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:

  • None


Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Lakeshore's mission, vision, and strategic direction.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing. 
     

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills. 
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and CREO.
  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing beneficial.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.

  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment may require multi-tasking.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
