Position Purpose:
Responsible for managing and assisting the Independent Review Organization (IRO) team with aspects of the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for medical providers and other healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Processes re-credentialing for physicians, advanced practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
- Verifies and validates provider qualifications, licensure, education, training, board certification, work history, and malpractice history.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date credentialing records in credentialing databases and systems (e.g., LawBase).
- Proactively monitors expiring credentials and coordinates timely renewals to prevent lapses in compliance.
- Prepares detailed reports and conducts audits to monitor credentialing status and ensure regulatory compliance
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
License, Certification, or Training
- Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification, preferred
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in credentialing
- Familiarity utilizing the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), and State Licensing platforms, preferred
- Familiarity utilizing the LawBase software, preferred
