EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Required: Excellent English communication skills.
- Required: Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Required: Current US Ski & Snowboard Race Administrator certification, or ability to secure one within first season of employment.
- Required: Ability to ski and/or snowboard at an intermediate level.
- Required: Ability to work under pressure, cross-train, multi-task, prioritize tasks, and follow directions from Managers, etc.
- Required: Must work with and maintain productive working relationships with Mt. Rose partners.
- Required: Must be able to pass a background check.
- Required: Must be able to work at least one weekend day for the duration of the Ski Team season.
- Preferred: Ability to work/coach both Saturday/Sunday for the duration of the Ski Team season.
- Preferred: Experience with ski racing, including coaching, competing, race crew, and/or administration.
- Preferred: Experience with Freeride skiing, including coaching, competing, and/or administration. Familiarity with TJFS, IFSA and/or FIS Freeride events, governance, standards, etc.
- Preferred: Previous experience as a Ski School instructor, and/or Ski Team coach. Familiarity with PSIA, USSS, and/or formal experience with technical skiing skills development, including the SkillsQuest training curriculum.
- Preferred: Active USSS and/or PSIA certification within the last 5 years.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and communicate lane space between Mt. Rose Ski Teams, local High School Ski Teams, and UNR Ski Team.
- Perform Race Administrator duties for races hosted by Mt. Rose
- Coordinate scheduling and staffing for race events for Mt. Rose Ski Teams, local High School Ski Teams, and the UNR Ski Team.
- Understand, observe, and teach all Ski Team safety, group handling, and training operations rules, requirements, processes, and protocols, including the Skier Responsibility Code and Park SMART (applicable to Terrain Park qualified coaches only).
- Establish rapport with Ski Team athletes and families, including training day debriefs with athletes and their parents. Develop camaraderie among Ski Team athletes in a fun coaching environment, and facilitate the development of lifelong skiers.
- Communicate issues, needs, and questions effectively to coaches, Supervisors/Director, and Ski Patrol.
- Manage on-snow incidents utilizing proper protocols, including communicating with Ski Patrol and Ski Team management.
- Assist in Rosebuds, Ski School and/or other departments during holiday periods or as needed (i.e. shovel crew).
