The focus of this role is on achieving results aligned with organizational strategy and long-term goals. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, competitive drive, and the ability to maintain focus on results. The role combines science, technology, and business to help laboratories become faster, smarter, and more efficient through automation. This position is also instrumental in providing strategic planning for the Lab Automation market segment while developing relationships with key customers and partners.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and execute a national sales strategy to achieve revenue targets in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities and applications to support geographic and revenue expansion.
  • Lead annual sales planning, forecasting and budget management processes with a focus on performance optimization.
  • Analyze customer workflows and emerging needs to recommend the most effective automation solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients to foster long-term partnerships based on trust.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations that clearly communicate the value of automation solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the product portfolio, industry technologies, competitors and market trends.
  • Generate accurate quotes, forecasts, and reports while managing territory plans and customer data effectively.
  • Collaborate with leadership, product managers, and marketing to align sales and marketing strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce Yaskawa robotics and automation technologies into laboratory environments.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50%.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in technical sales, preferably lab automation, life sciences, diagnostics, or related scientific instrumentation. Advanced degree or laboratory experience preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of laboratory workflows, instrumentation, and automation technologies. A proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical solutions into customer value.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time. Use hands to operate a computer, telephone and other office equipment. Communicate clearly in person, over the phone and in writing. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, such as product samples or demonstration equipment. Travel by car and air within assigned territory.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a combination of office, home office, and customer site environments. Work may be performed in laboratories, manufacturing facilities, or at trade shows. The noise level is generally moderate but may be higher in laboratory or industrial settings.

COMPENSATION

The base salary range for this position is $101K - $125K annually, plus commissions and benefits. Compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
