Essential Functions:
- Directs and supervises day to day operations of the medical office/clinic.
- Increases clinic effectiveness by training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff.
- Communicates values, strategies, and objectives to staff assigning needed responsibilities.
- Monitors employee job performance and performance results. Develops a climate for information and opinions. Provides educational opportunity for skill enhancement and advancement for providers and staff.
- Fosters a positive work environment, creates role models for patient customer service and sets forth performance expectations of staff.
- Continually monitors operations, programs and physical properties and initiates changes and improvements as needed.
- Recommends operating and capital budgets and ensures that the clinic is demonstrating fiscal accountability.
- Accomplishes objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and implementing result measurements.
- Responsible for all quality program measures, keeping updated on current trends to a quality versus quantity based reimbursement environment.
- Builds practice image by collaborating with patients, community organizations, and employees, enforcing ethical business practices.
- Maintain the quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Must be skilled in EMR.
- Attends required meetings and participates as requested.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
Education/Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelors Degree preferably with coursework in health care administration.
- Minimum of 3 years administrative experience with one year of medical office experience.
- Must be experienced in a physician practice.
- Knowledge of clinic principles and practices of employee development sufficient to ensure organizational productivity.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures of a clinic sufficient to direct its operations and to provide effective patient care.
- Must have skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgement, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
- Knowledge of computer systems with specific knowledge of Athena applications.
- Ability to clearly communicate and apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of employee situations.
- Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
- Ability to multi-task.
Mental/Physical Requirements:
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with coursework in health care administration.
License & Requirements:
Medical Records Certificate useful.
