Salary: Per Paraprofessional Agreement
Student Level: Kindergarten & Second Grade
Work Week: Monday - Friday, 6.5 hours per day.
Education and /or Experience:
High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates/Technical degree preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, or pass MN Parapro test. Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program. Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota
Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to support our Kindergarten and 2nd Grade Programs. The ideal candidate will play a key role in assisting the classroom teacher in delivering instruction, promoting academic growth, and supporting a positive learning environment for young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Kindergarten & Second Grade teachers.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
- Provide individualized support to students to meet their language and academic needs, promoting and academic development.
- Assist in organizing classroom materials and resources to support learning and student engagement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instructional practices.
Qualifications:
- Passion for working with young children and supporting bilingual education.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
- Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students.
- Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred, but not required.
