ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- MUST be currently Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) at a four-year college or university and have interest in learning or has experience with supply chain, buying, selling, contracts, cost reductions or budgets. Bilingual Spanish/English a Plus but NOT REQUIRED.
- Work Schedule: During School need to be able to work a 28 hours per week preferred but we have some flexibility during business hours (7:30am to 5:30pm) and During Breaks can be up to 40 hours a week as needed. (we will work around your school schedule).
- Length of Internship: 6 Months Minimum and could extend longer OR turn into a full-time position.
- Target start date will be as soon as possible.
SUMMARY
Coordinate, direct activities and individuals involved with procuring goods and services such as equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and a variety of services required to run MPWA’s operations and meet customer commitments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand, establish and issue Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ) for Indirect materials and services.
- Project manage sourcing initiatives to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Establish, evaluate, and select suppliers to develop a qualified supplier base;
- Review and evaluate monthly global sourcing data to make decisions that support company direction and growth;
- Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority;
- Manage contracts to verify vendor compliance to contract requirements;
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action;
- Performance review of suppliers for quality, delivery and reliability;
- Establish long-term agreements with suppliers;
- Support major procurement activities including procurement of capital equipment and new projects;
- Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance;
- Provide support to upper management in effort to meet corporate goals, objectives and projects;
- Perform other such duties as may be required.

- Education and/or Experience: Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) at a four-year college or university and have interest in learning or has experience with supply chain, buying, selling, contracts, cost reductions or budgets. Bilingual Spanish/English a Plus but NOT REQUIRED.
- Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and basic database. Must have exp. with MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel (Pivot tables, V look up etc.), Power Point.
- Management Skills: Ability to effectively communicate job tasks, goals and projects to global sourcing staff as well as manage and delegate when necessary.
