About the Role
Our U.S. Global & National segment of Claims Experts handle a portfolio of Property and Casualty Reinsurance claims across multiple lines of business. This role provides the opportunity to share your knowledge with stakeholders, clients, and industry peers through in-person and virtual interaction. We pride ourselves on a dynamic environment that will allow you to utilize your creativity and curiosity, substantiate trends and hypotheses with data analysis, and manage your Claims portfolio to our strategic goals. This role provides close exposure to Underwriting, Products, Claims Operations, and Reserving teams.
Key activities of the role include to:
- Steer portfolio of Claims in accordance our group strategy and oversee the performance of losses against expectations through data analysis and industry experience.
- Manage the disposition of claims in your portfolio and balance automation potential with risk appetite. Analyze contractual obligations to ensure appropriate case reserves and approve payments.
- Provide cross-functional support with portfolio insights and analysis to help steer the business and develop strategy.
- Formulate, develop, and implement account management; build and support client relationships.
- Conduct client visits to review claims and understand our client's claim handling practices; ensure claims are handled according to industry standards and contractual terms.
- Provide outstanding client service, share industry and/or specific topic knowledge through published materials or presentations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders: provide Claims Insights, industry trends, claims data, loss development, contract wording issues and any other requested information.
About the Team
We are a team of Property and Casualty Claims Professionals with broad and diverse insurance industry knowledge and in-depth claims expertise. We handle our claims portfolios with sound, reliable, and efficient care and regularly collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross functional teams. Our clients are important to us; we partner with them to provide tangible expertise and help them achieve their goals. We are a curious group that is driven to find solutions that work. We actively engage in thought leadership, including researching, writing, and presenting on various claims topics.
About You
You are curious and tenacious. You ask questions, seek solutions, offer ideas and you are keen to try new things. You have robust interpersonal skills and are capable and comfortable communicating with high-level claims professionals, legal officers and senior management.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3-5 years' claims, underwriting, insurance, reinsurance, and/or insurance related legal experience.
- General knowledge of and/or exposure to other insurance disciplines i.e., contract wording, accounting, and underwriting.
- Confirmed ability to meet deliverables, implement plans, and conduct analysis.
- Excellent writing skills and proficient in Excel.
- Basic data analytics skills and desire for further growth.
Our company uses a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time if preferred. This position is not eligible for full-time telework.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $116,000 to $194,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
