About the Role:

The Grain Grading and Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming grains, accurately assessing their condition, and coordinating their efficient movement and storage. This role is critical to maintaining product quality, managing procurement risk, and supporting effective supply chain operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Grain Quality Assessment: Visually inspect, grade, and physically test incoming grains (corn, soybeans, wheat, etc.) for quality factors such as moisture content, test weight, foreign material, damage, and overall condition. Perform laboratory tests, including toxin testing, and collect representative samples from trucks, railcars, and storage bins.
• Grain Bin Temperature Monitoring: Regularly monitor and record temperatures within grain bins to detect potential spoilage or quality issues.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of grain quality, test results, grading decisions, and temperature readings.
• Inventory Tracking: Maintain accurate records of grain inventories, including quantity, grade, and location.
• Truck Designation: Designate trucks to specific plants or locations based on current inventory levels and grain grades to optimize logistics and minimize transportation costs.
• Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members in purchasing, quality control, and logistics.

The Right Candidate:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Outgoing and strong Customer Service skills or related background.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
