Accounts Payable Clerk
The Ephrata Area School District is seeking a qualified individual to fill the anticipated vacancy of Accounts Payable Clerk in the Business Office. This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments, in accordance with District policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and process invoices, purchase orders, and employee reimbursements with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with established approval processes, account coding, and supporting documentation requirements.
- Maintain accurate vendor files, reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies, and respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, reconciliations, and documentation for the annual audit.
- Collaborate with Business Office personnel to ensure effective and efficient financial operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Business Manager or Business Manager.
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with particular emphasis on Excel, and familiarity with financial management systems.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Terms of Employment - Full-time, 12-month position

- Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.

Other Requirements: Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.
Rate/Salary based upon experience.
