**Variable hours, some evenings
The MRN Coordinator provides leadership oversight during non-traditional office hours. The position works in conjunction with the VP of Patient Care Services to provide the direction and leadership necessary for staff to attain our mission, vision, and values and to assure alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. The MRN Coordinator is a Registered Nurse with a strong knowledge base and clinical experience able to use dynamic leadership abilities to effectively coordinate and manage day to day operations ensuring patient throughput, appropriate patient placement, and aligning staffing resources as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing of New Mexico or compact (multi-state) license
  • BSN
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Certification Life Support (ACLS)
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation and accountability
  • Team-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSN
  • At least five (5) years of MRN experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Acts as a clinical and supervisory resource
  • Analyzes and distributes equitable nursing resources
  • Ensures efficient and effective patient flow is achieved
  • Makes decisions that align with organizational standards/expectations
  • Facilitates the timely placement and flow of incoming patients, those waiting in lobby, EMS & Aircare, and transfers
  • Facilitates the timely discharge of patients
  • Serves as supportive liaison to other teams and departments as needed
  • Ensures smooth transition from shift to shift
  • Role models SJRMC’s Core Values in all interactions
  • Cultivates supportive, encouraging relationships with others in a manner that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of SJRMC
  • Coaches team members to promote and develop skills and behaviors necessary to execute in alignment with hospital strategic goals
  • Monitors department schedule and assures adequate staffing and schedule accuracy

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

  • Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently.
  • Must be able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to three hundred (300) pounds frequently.
  • Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and meets OSHA training requirements.

Special Demands:

  • Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will support the delivery of care.
  • Effectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families.
