We’re currently looking for a Sr. Tax Analyst, Federal Tax Compliance to join our team at the Nissan North Americas Headquarters in Franklin, TN.

A Day in the Life:

  • Plays a key role in preparing and submitting Federal tax returns and reports as required, including estimates and extensions. Gathers and maintains documentation in support of tax laws, regulations and potential future audits.
  • Assists with preparation of year-end income tax provision and budget/forecasts of projected Federal income tax liability.
  • Conducts research of and keeps up to date with tax regulations, notices and IRS instructions to ensure proper compliance.
  • Prepares general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, including coordinating uploading financial data into tax software system.
  • Maintains tax software systems.
  • Coordinates with Big 4 compliance co-sourcing partner to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Liaises with our tax technology specialists to implement solutions to increase our team’s efficiency and accuracy
  • Supports tax department in all aspects of tax compliance (state income/franchise, information & withholding reporting, etc.).
  • Cross functionally serves the broader tax group as needed in areas such as tax accounting, tax planning, tax audits, etc.
  • Independently drives operational enhancements through use of technology.

Who We’re Looking for:

  • Requires an in-depth understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations; understanding of general accounting and reporting; understanding of documents and data required to support tax inquiries, audits and other issues. Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Five or more years of directly related professional level experience (ideally a mix of public account and in-house roles).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Accounting, Business Management, Finance etc.). Master’s degree, CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with tax compliance automation tools required, preferably ONESOURCE Income Tax, ONESOURCE Tax Provision, SAP and MS Power Tools.
  • Thorough computer knowledge such as word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to resolve complex problems in day-to-day situations.
  • Self-starter who actively seeks opportunities for improvement and communicates openly with the team.
