Job Description:As a Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver high-quality language, literacy, and numeracy training to empower electrical apprentices and support their literacy and numeracy skills to complete their apprenticeship successfully. This hands-on role involves designing and evaluating training, conducting assessments, and maintaining accurate reporting to meet government contract requirements and national standards. This project is expected to commence in January/February 2026.
We are currently looking for qualified Trainers with strong teaching experience in Maths to deliver training in the following locations: Coffs Harbour, Goulburn, Wagga Wagga, Dubbo, Tamworth, Ballina and Grafton.
This project is 40 weeks long, on a one-week-on, one-week-off basis, with delivery hours of 27/week
Opportunities for work during the off-weeks may be available but are not guaranteed.
Travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed if you are travelling from Sydney. You will be paid a fortnightly salary for the duration of the project, depending on your qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and student-focused language, literacy, and numeracy training using adult learning principles and a variety of methodologies.
- Conduct diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of student progress.
- Design, develop, and validate tools and resources that align with program and learner needs.
- Foster learner engagement through real-world, project-based learning and innovative use of technology.
- Maintain accurate records of training delivery and ensure compliance with privacy and reporting requirements.
- Continuously improve professional knowledge and skills through training, curriculum development, and the adoption of new technologies.
Our ideal candidate is a dedicated educator with a passion for delivering impactful training that enhances learners' skills and opportunities.
It is essential you can demonstrate the following criteria:
- A Bachelor of Education or equivalent and postgraduate qualifications in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or Adult LLN (e.g., Grad Dip TESOL).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent qualifications required by ASQA.
- Previous Experience in Maths tutoring
- Demonstrated teaching capability and recent experience delivering client-focused education.
- Proficiency in using classroom technology and an ability to integrate innovative tools into teaching (e.g. Moodle)
- Skilled in conducting assessments using nationally accredited curricula (e.g., CGEA, FSK, CSWE) and frameworks (e.g., ACSF).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working in multicultural learning environments.
- Current Driver’s licence
- Current Working With Children Check
