Line Technician Level IV will apply your mechanical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot issues and support machine operations. Reporting to the Production Supervisor or Department Manager, you will assist in machine operation, quality control, safety protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Line Technician Level IV will apply your mechanical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot issues and support machine operations. Reporting to the Production Supervisor or Department Manager, you will assist in machine operation, quality control, safety protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Essential Responsibilities and Percentage of Time Spent:

1. Troubleshooting and Repairs (35%)

  • Assist in providing training to Line Technicians on safety procedures and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Support in troubleshooting equipment issues, following complex instructions, and resolving minor problems under supervision.

 

2. Machine Operation and Setup  (45%)

  • Follow manufacturing orders accurately and assist in conducting inspections to identify out-of-spec conditions.
  • Assist in operating and adjusting processes on at least one (1) technology within various departments.
  • Support setup, adjustments, line clearance, and changeovers of machinery.

 

3. Preventative Maintenance Oversight  (5%)

  • Support the utilization of the Maintenance Connection program for streamlining maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance schedules.

 

4. Housekeeping, Safety, and Continuous Improvement  (5%)

  • Participate in housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following guidelines.
  • Assist in implementing safety initiatives and participating in continuous improvement projects.

 

5.   Additional Duties (5%)

  • Assist in training Line Technicians 1-3, documenting setup parameters as needed.
  • Support in safety projects as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Industrial Maintenance Certificate and/or Mechatronics Technology Certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic proficiency in basic math skills with the ability to read micrometers and rulers.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading/comprehending, and writing in English.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a high-volume machine-paced environment with basic knowledge in troubleshooting, repairs, setup, and maintenance.

 

Functional Competencies:

Initiative and Time Management, Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles, Critical Thinking and Basic Problem Solving, Cross Functional Collaboration, Integrity and Verbal Communication Skills,  Basic Analytical Skills, Adaptability to fast-paced environments.
