The Contract Administrator is responsible for preparing/reviewing/administering contracts, supporting legal entity management (registrations and filings), and ensuring compliance with federal regulations particularly those applicable to 8(a) entities. The Contract Administrator will work closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Leadership to support project-level reviews, contract compliance, and documentation for clients such as the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and other federal agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Review, draft, and administer federal, state, and commercial contracts, subcontracts, and modifications.
· Support legal entity management, including registrations, business licenses, annual filings, and compliance with federal and state requirements.
· Conduct contract compliance reviews to ensure adherence to FAR/DFARS, SBA 8(a) program regulations, and internal policies.
· Assist with project-level contract reviews, including task orders and modifications, ensuring obligations are accurately captured and communicated.
· Maintain organized records of contracts, amendments, correspondence, and certifications.
· Collaborate with finance, operations, and project teams to ensure proper billing, invoicing, and reporting aligned with contractual requirements.
· Research and advise on regulatory and compliance matters related to federal contracting.
· Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to contracting and compliance.
· Perform other related duties as assigned to support the growth and compliance of ESC’s legal entities.
Minimum Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field
· Juris Doctorate Degree
· 4-7 years of experience of experience in contract administration or legal compliance
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
· Familiarity with SBA 8(a) program, tribally-owned entities, and related compliance requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Strong knowledge of federal contracting, including FAR/DFARS regulations.
· Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to analyze and interpret legal and contractual language.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Work Environment:
· This is a remote position.
· Ability to travel occasionally to the Overland Park office.
Physical Abilities:
· Constant work performed in a sedentary position.
· Prolonged period sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Ability to operate computer including traditional keyboard.
