Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the medical office or hospital. You will be cross-trained to assist both in clinical tasks and at the front desk, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Your responsibilities will include providing administrative support, assisting with patient care management, and facilitating effective communication between patients and providers. The goal is to deliver high-quality service, complete all tasks accurately, and maintain timely, organized operations.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Check with patients and type up patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Requirements
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Degree in medical assistance

Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification preferred
- Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training
- EMR Experience, Athena experience is a plus
