The Role

Mach Industries is seeking a Test Engineer Lead to join our groundbreaking new division, Mach Propulsion. The role covers the development of test infrastructure, procedures, data acquisition systems, test cell and flight test operations. We are on a mission to deliver high-performance small turbine engines at scale needed by rethinking the fundamentals to enable high-rate, scalable manufacturing. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test and instrumentation requirements to validate engine performance.

  • Team leadership to build the test team.

  • Work with customers to develop test and integration plans.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members.

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safe operations.

  • Travel to test sites as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 7+ years in rapid product development environment that includes engine test, either in chamber, wind tunnel or on aircraft.

  • Proficiency in NX/Teamcenter for product design and engineering.

  • Expertise in CANape or similar CAN environment.

  • Competency with data analysis tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW).

  • Experience with test stand design, sensors/instrumentation, data acquisition and data processing practices.

  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military aviation product development, systems integration or test experience.

  • Experience generating formal test plans and reports in government format(s).

  • Flight test or flight line operations experience.

  • Work with engine control systems including FADEC’s, ECU’s, Starter-Generators, Engine Management Systems (EMS) or related hardware.

  • Builder mentality, you are driven to create and improve not just maintain the status quo. Strong coaching and mentoring skills with ability to develop scientific thinking in others as well as help teams to develop efficient tools and processes for success.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
