CTG is seeking to fill a Java Backend Developer (Vert.x) opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ.

 

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: 12 months

 

Duties:

  • Design, develop, and support enterprise-level applications leveraging Java, JEE, and Vert.x frameworks.

  • Build and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs.

  • Implement solutions using Rest APIs, RX, and multi-threading to ensure robust and efficient systems.

  • Apply strong knowledge of design patterns, Spring, and Spring Boot to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications with enterprise systems.

  • Contribute to DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based deployments.

  • Ensure code quality through test-driven development (TDD) and adherence to best practices.

  • Provide ongoing support, enhancements, and performance optimization for existing applications.

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Java backend development with 6+ years of experience.

  • Hands-on expertise with Rest APIs, RX, and multi-threading.

  • Advanced understanding of design patterns, Spring, and Spring Boot.

  • Knowledge of scaling applications, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.

  • Familiarity with dependency injection, inversion of control, aspect-oriented programming, and functional programming.

  • Proficiency in test-driven development, data access frameworks, transaction management, and batch processing.

  • Experience with enterprise integration and large-scale distributed systems.

Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of strong backend Java programming and project experience.

  • Prior experience with Vert.x framework is highly preferred.

  • Hands-on project experience with scalable, enterprise-grade applications.

  • American Express (Amex) experience is strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
