JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, performs a variety of tasks including leading supply distribution team, maintaining inventories, ordering inventory, linen distribution, adjusting departmental pars to optimum levels, issuing of stock supplies and utilizing computer technology. Leads by example and works closely with staff in being efficient and effective in departmental operations. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust) and ADICT.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate all core training of new Associates and participates in new Associate interview within distribution area.
- Creates a rotating staff work schedule.
- Participates in yearly evaluations of Distribution Associates.
- Signs off on all requests for vacations, within Distribution department, and ensures staff time is covered.
- Ensures fellow Distribution Associates are following hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Is a conduit, for staff communication, from department to Buyer/Inventory Supervisor.
- Works with user departments to ensure stock par levels are maintained and changed if needed.
- Ensures Associates are cross-trained for effective staff coverage within Distribution and to include Landry and Receiving department.
- Ensures medical supply shelves are properly labeled and supplies are stored in their proper location.
- Inventories user par level storage areas and replenishes inventory or par levels.
- Orders inventory supplies utilizing Meditech ordering system.
- Adjust storeroom inventory pars levels to accommodate change in usage.
- Orders inventory supplies for users depts. as needed
- Receives requests for supplies, selects stock from inventory, and distributes supplies to designated areas.
- Ensure proper phone etiquette is adhered to.
- Reports stock discrepancies to Inventory Supervisor.
- Ensure and participates in weekly scheduled inventory cycle counts.
- Removes outdated supplies from departments/storeroom for disposition.
- Uses computerized inventory management’s system to organize and maintain records pertinent to stock levels, supply quantities issued, and other data; recommends modification to inventory levels.
- Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Maintains departmental records, reports, and files as required.
- Keeps the storeroom area clean and orderly at all times.

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Heavy physical effort: ability to frequently move independently 35 lbs. and occasionally move or position up to 40 lbs. Considerable amount of positioning oneself while putting supplies in proper locations. Available to work overtime as needed due to increased delivery of supplies and staffing shortages.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Contact with all Associates and physicians. Occasional contact with outside delivery personnel.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Personal computers. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Precision and attention to detail. Ability of use of Hydraulic pallet jack, multiple delivery carts.
