MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan and coordinate participation in sales activities including industry events to market the MCCNO to potential clients with a primary focus on business development in all assigned market segments with measurable goals and results.
- Research, propose, and confirm events to meet the determined annual revenue and hall day goals set by the leadership in the Sales Department.
- Contract events most efficiently utilize the MCCNO space.
- Follow established MCCNO sales procedures and best practices, while making recommendations to improve these procedures & practices where applicable.
- Conduct Site Visits with prospective clients taking the lead on all logistics regarding the Convention Center portion of the Site while collaboratively working with New Orleans & Company.
- Close sales leads and correspond with existing accounts in an expeditious manner.
- Cross-sell all of MCCNO’s profit centers to include food and beverage, technology and other services.
- Maintain, schedule and track regular contact of accounts in assigned market areas, as well as providing timelines for recommended follow-up as necessary.
- Regularly review account information and event details to ensure accuracy.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the MCCNO Facility Use Contract/ Rules and Regulations and how they are applied.
- Properly communicate the Rules and Regulations to each Event Organizer to ensure full understanding when contracting.
- Negotiate contract language for each event that protects the MCCNO bringing in leadership and the legal team where needed.
- Ensure each client is providing all pre-show information in order to start the event in a positive manner.
Work cooperatively and expeditiously with the New Orleans and Company sales team and other peer groups within the hospitality to plan and execute joint sales efforts.
- Provide industry leadership within the convention sales industry.
- Participate in assigned industry/professional organizations.
Work collaboratively with MCCNO departments demonstrating a strong knowledge of all policies regarding safety, operations and work procedures.
- Efficiently submit receipts and required information for expense reports
- Participate on interdepartmental committees as requested or nominated.
- Take on assigned work or special projects as requested
- Ensure there is follow up with any unresponsive team members.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and four to six years of related experience and/or training in a convention, hotel and/or large multi-purpose facility preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CMP, CEM and/or CGMP preferred.
