POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Access Manager works directly with CHN and community organizations to oversee weekly operations of our onsite pantry and supports collaboration with community-based partners to address food insecurity. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Serves as the point person for CHN’s Food Pantry in East NY neighborhood to serve CHN/ICL participants plus community members.

2.    Serves as the point person for Food Pantry with community organizations and Food Bank of New York, coordinating logistics and overseeing Americorps volunteers plus staff assistance on distribution days.

3.    Fields Food Pantry questions from participants.

4.    Coordinates Food Pantry setups and distribution on regular designated days.

5.    Completes necessary reports for Food Pantry distributions.

6.    Finds related recipes to feature and give tips to participants on ways to utilize vegetables in season.

7.    Conferences regularly with the Director of Nutrition & Wellness to share information that is pertinent to Food Pantry success.

8.    Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.


CERTIFICATE/LICENSE REQUIRED:  

    Associate Degree required but Bachelor’s Degree preferred

    One (1) to two (2) years of work experience required, including working with vegetable box distributions and/or food pantries

    Office and/or administrative experience preferred

    Bilingual Spanish skills a plus
