Job Summary:
Directs production and processing operations through a team of functional managers and front-line supervisors across multiple sites within a region or a large complex facility. Ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
- Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
- Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
- Balances work cell capacity/loading across the plant.
- Provides leadership through a 12 month planning cycle.
- Determines operations headcount needs and ensures compliance with company policies.
- Ensures compliance with company needs for capital investments and improvement projects.
- Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Poultry Science) or equivalent work experience the poultry industry.
- 10 years of prior poultry management work experience preferably in egg production.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have an understanding of the operation and maintenance of the equipment used in egg production and egg processing.
- Extensive knowledge of poultry management to include, the care and nutritional needs of chickens.
- Must have an understanding of the maintenance needs of barns, mills, tractors, vehicles in an agricultural environment.
- Must understand Bio-Security needs in a poultry environment and the protection of the flocks from disease.
- Must have an understanding of the preferred Animal Welfare practices in the industry.
- Strong communications and team building skills
- Ability to manage several projects at the same time.
- Ability to follow and enforce Company policies and procedures in a consistent manner.
- Manage a budget in order to manage the farm in a cost efficient manner.
Physical Demands:
Sit, use keyboard, use fine manipulation with hands and fingers. Lift up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
Clean, temperature controlled environment. Noise level is low. No personal protective equipment needed.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Temperature varies in relation to the outside temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions.
