We are seeking a Staff Accountant who is eager to grow into a Senior Accountant role. This position is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in accounting who is ready to take ownership of critical processes and expand their responsibilities as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Expenses: Manage the Concur accounts payable system, including vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and compliance with company policies.
- Goods Received Notes (GRNs): Oversee processing, reconciliation, and accuracy of GRNs to ensure proper matching with purchase orders and vendor invoices.
- Payroll: Process payroll in coordination with HR, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate variances to maintain accurate cash records.
- General Ledger (GL) Reconciliations: Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Month-End Close: Support accounting month-end activities including journal entries, accruals, and preparation of supporting schedules and financial statements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in managing company budgets and forecasts in Workday Adaptive Planning, ensuring alignment with financial goals and operational priorities.
- Year-End Audit: Assist with year-end audit requests and preparation of documentation for external auditors.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and streamline workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience (manufacturing experience a plus).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
- Experience with Concur or other AP/expense management systems preferred.
- Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or similar budgeting/forecasting tools a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central, NetSuite, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Experience with SQL a plus (for data queries, analysis and integration).
